TAMWORTH Hockey Club are hoping that Britain’s summer of sporting success will inspire more people to come and try their hand at hockey locally.
The Hockey Club are currently gearing up for the new season ahead which begins in September and will host their annual club open day on 31 August 12-3pm.
And they are on the lookout for any new recruits who want to join one of their men's, ladies or junior teams.
Rebecca Popple, Captain of the Ladies First XI, said: "We are looking for players of all abilities and experience to join us at this vibrant and friendly club.
"We are very fortunate to have our own clubhouse close by at Hints Lane, Hopwas enabling us to host many successful and lively social events throughout the year.
"We would be especially interested in experienced players to strengthen and increase squad sizes."
The ladies currently play in Midlands Division Two while the Men's First XI will begin the season in West Midland Division One.
In total, Tamworth run four men's teams and three women's teams; as well as developing new talent within their thriving junior section.

"This summer we have seen some great sporting success in Britain and we are hoping that interest in playing sport locally will increase as a result of this. Hockey is a great way to keep fit, meet new people and play competitive at a regional level. I would urge anyone wanting to try their hand at a new sport to come and visit our Club open day to find out more."
