TAMWORTH Hockey Club opened its doors this weekend as they encouraged people to try their hand at hockey locally.
The Hockey Club are currently gearing up for the new season which begins this weekend with the Men's First XI facing Lichfield in a pre season friendly.
And they are on the lookout for any new recruits who want to join one of their men's, ladies or junior teams.
Rebecca Popple, Captain of the Ladies First XI, said: "We had a fantastic turn out for our Club Open day on Saturday with lots of interest from new players, particularly in the junior section.
"We were also pleased to welcome one of our new sponsors Footsteps Treatment Clinic who were pitchside offering free sports therapy advice and massages."
The ladies currently play in Midlands Division Two while the Men's First XI will begin the season in West Midlands Division One.
In total, Tamworth run four men's teams and three women's teams; as well as developing new talent within their thriving junior section.
Men's First Team captain, Ian Wagstaff said: "We are hoping that anyone who couldn't make our open day this weekend will come along to one of our training sessions that take place on Wednesday evenings.
"The club has an exciting season ahead with all of our teams hoping for some success."
All matches and training sessions (Wednesday evenings from 7pm) are held at Landau Forte Academy (QEMS), Tamworth starting this Wednesday 4 September.
