Tamworth finished their season on a high thrashing Leamington comfortably, they started well and scored when Ian Wagstaff bagged his 18th of the season following up his own short corner strike. Tamworth controlled the game from then on and made it 2-0 when Ben Popple went through and slid the ball past the keeper. Simon Miles made it 3-0 before half time as Tamworth were now cruising. After the break Ben Acheson added a fourth before Vice Captain Jay Haywood scored his annual goal converting a flick having run the length of the pitch to take it. Tamworth yet again narrowly missed out on promotion with consistency being the issue finishing 3rd in the league. |
