Match Report | Tamworth Ladies Firsts provided another winning performance, with a 3-1 win against Bournville. The ladies controlled the game across the pitch from the first whistle, rapidly turning over any Bournville advances. Captain Rebecca Popple was the first on the scoresheet, following a great build up play involving Helen Langford and Claire Hicks. Tamworth had endless opportunities on goal but were struggling to convert until Amiee Hyde scored the second of the game. The third Tamworth goal came from an excellent reverse stick strike, again from Rebecca Popple, who obtained a well deserved Man of the Match for her performance throughout the game.Tamworth dominated the game convincingly throughout and disappointingly, through a momentary lapse in concentration did Bournville convert their only real opportunity in to their only goal. The ladies will be preparing for their double header this weekend against 2 strong teams and will be looking to take their winning attitude with them against both Birmingham University and Shrewsbury. |
