amworth Ladies 1st team were unfortunate not to get more from their 1st league game against Solihull Blossomfield.
Tamworth had an unsteady first half which saw Solihull take the lead. During the second half, the more familiar Tamworth determination and team work appeared with both Laura Webb and Gemma Rowe starting the season off well on the scoring board. Gemma Rowe, Tamworth's most dangerous weapon in short corners, did not disappoint scoring a lovely goal against a helpless goalkeeper.
Tamworth had majority of the possession in the second half working tirelessly to try and equalise and take the lead, but Solihull's defence kept Tamworth from being able to convert their advances.
Tamworth will be disappointed not to take a win on their first home league game, but will be taking the positives from the second half through to next week for a strong performance against local derby, Burton. |
