Tamworth ladies thirds completed their first half of league fixtures unbeaten with a 3-2 win over Barton on Saturday and extended their lead at the top of the table to nine points. The town side dominated the possession with Kathryn Adams and Elaine Foxley giving the side a comfortable 2-0 half time lead. Elaine Foxley extended the towns lead with a superb strike into the roof of the net, before Barton staged a mini fight back, they were awarded a penalty after a shot on goal was illegally stopped on the line from which they scored, and spurred on by this Barton attacked more and scored a second late on leaving Tamworth to hold onto their slender lead for a nervy last few minutes.
