Match Report | Despite losing their first game of the season Tamworth remain top of the league and six points clear of second placed Cannock. The town side were put on the back foot from the off by a very strong Cannock side and had to withstand a lot of pressure, as they were limited to break away attacks, but had the town taken their chances they could have gained the advantage early on. It was on one of these rare attacks and somewhat against the run of play that Tamworth did take the lead Elaine Foxley scoring a fine individual goal. Cannock hit back with two goals of their own before Di Milner equalised with a well-executed first time strike following good work from Kate Barton. The second half followed a similar pattern to the first with Cannock enjoying a greater share of possession, keeper Lisa Moore made a number of excellent saves ably supported by the towns back four. Cannock added two more to their tally to re-take the lead, Tamworth applied some pressure late on looking to get back in the game but were unable to make the break through and they suffered their first loss of the season.
