The ladies thirds remain unbeaten and nine points clear at the top of the table after this victory against Stone on Saturday. Tamworth started positively creating a number of opportunities but again failed to capitalise on them, and were punished right at the end of the half as stone took the lead with a rare attack. The town came out for the second session in determined fashion scoring twice in the opening 10 minutes, first from Kate Barton deflecting a Di Milner short corner strike then Becky Busby scoring a fine individual goal. Lesley Broadway had a fine game at the back and started many of the town’s attacks playing the ball nicely out of defence. Becky Busby was also becoming more influential as the half went on creating countless chances for Tamworth. Kate Barton secured the win with her second of the game following a goal mouth melee.
