Match Report | The ladies thirds extended their lead to six points at the top of Staffordshire Division 3 on Saturday with a 4-0 win over second placed Cannock. The town side made a perfect start scoring within the opening five minutes when Di Milner latched onto a loose ball and fired home from an acute angle. Tamworth worked hard all over the pitch with Elaine Foxley and Anne Marshall combining superbly down the right and Kirsty Wright and Chris Mander on the left creating many opportunities for the town. Claire Miles scored a second from a short corner before Anne Marshall extended Tamworth’s lead with an excellent strike. Tamworth continued to dominate the second half and any Cannock attacks were easily dealt with by the towns defence, Claire Miles scored Tamworth’s fourth from another short corner to give the town a well-deserved win.
