Match Report |
The ladies thirds continued their early season good form with a well deserved win over Erdington on Saturday. Tamworth started brightly passing the ball around nicely creating some early oppourtunities on goal, unfortunately they were caught out by a quick attack from Erdington who scored with their first shot. Tamworth reponded well forcing their opponants onto the back foot and equalised through a Claire Miles short corner strike. A blistering start to the second half saw Tamworth score three times in the opening 10 minutes, POM Alex Gayton was becoming more influential in midfield and capped a fine performance with a brilliant individual goal, Kate Barton and Kirsty Wright quickly added another two. Now in total control of the match the town side moved the ball around from back to front with confidence, an Elaine Foxley strike added a fifth before Erdington scored a second, but from the re-start a strong run from Foxley set up debutant Kathryn Adams whose shot was deflected into the goal to complete the rout. POM Alex Gayton and League POM Elaine Foxley. |
