Match Report | Tamworthtravelled to Nottingham Uni this week in the scorching sun. The heat and travelling unsettled Tamworth and simple mistakes were being made. It was Nottingham Uni who opened the scoring after a quick counter attack saw Tamworth left unprepared. Some great build up play from Helen Day and Allie Dickens found Laura Webb in the D who unselfishly slipped to Stevie Oversby to score and bring Tamworth level. Notts Uni responded in the second half but solid defending from Clare Phillips and sisters Charley and Gemma Rowe kept Notts Uni at bay. Tamworth grew stronger and great individual chances from Liz Mill and Steph Lawrence brought Tamworth closer. It was Tamworth who forced the winner over the line after Notts Uni were unable to clear in a crowded D Webb managed to scramble the ball over the line to give Tamworth the deserved winner. |
