Match Report | Tamworth Men’s First XI completed the first half of their season with a 2-1 defeat at home to Ludlow. After some recent lacklustre performances this was a return to form and Tamworth started the match strongly as they put pressure on Ludlow. Despite the good start it was the visitors who took the lead with a well worked short corner routine. After the half time break Ludlow doubled their lead as a breakaway goal saw the ball scrambled into Tamworth’s net. Following the goal Tamworth laid siege to Ludlow’s goal and the visitors barely got out of their half. Callum Taylor did pull a goal back for Tamworth when Kieron Dash played the ball to him and he flicked beyond the defenders on the line but the equaliser would not come as Tom Sperrink and Ian Wagstaff were denied by some unbelievable saves by the Ludlow keeper in the dying minutes. |
