Tamworth Ladies Seconds Vs Stone 2s

On Sunday Tamworth looked to get back to winning ways which they did with a good win over stone.

The town looked back to their best as they passed the ball around in style, with their forwards movement creating lots of space for the town to exploit. Tamworth worked tirelessly all over the pitch with Jo Goode and Fiona Sinclair showing great pace down the flanks. Stevie Williams saw her shot tipped onto the bar before Claire Miles opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a super strike, and although their lead was short lived as stone equalised almost immediately Tamworth retook the lead in the 28th minute Miles getting her second with a short corner strike.

The second session saw the town side control the tempo of the game keeping possession well, the front three of Milner, Foxley and Marshall put together some super moves which were deserving of a goal with all three players seeing shots well saved by the GK. Tamworth sealed the win in the 53rd minute when Di Milner connected with the ball beautifully to hit a thunderous shot into the corner of the goal giving the GK no chance and give Tamworth a 3-1 lead, the town side saw out the rest of the game to earn three more points.
