Match Report | Tamworth ladies 2s travelled to Telford on Sunday in this rearranged game coming away with a well deserved 3-0 win. The town side started brightly as they pinned Telford back but they were unable to capitalise on the chances created as the Telford defence and GK made a number of good saves and last gasp tackles to keep Tamworth out. On a rare breakaway attack Telford almost took the lead hitting the post before GK Nicky Youngman scrambled the ball away to safety and the teams went into the break all square. Tamworth continued to press forward in the second session, a change of tactics at their next short corner paid dividends with Alex Wylie deflecting home to give the town a well deserved lead. Five minutes later a strong run from midfield by captain Fiona Sinclair found Rebecca Warburton unmarked in the 'D' who showed great skill to lift the ball over the GK. Fiona Sinclair then capped a fine performance scoring Tamworth's third. Pom Alex Wylie |
