Match Report | Tamworth ladies 3s earned their first points of the season with a 0-0 draw against local rivals Lichfield on saturday. The town side started positively playing some lovely hockey with Courtney Bravington-Moore and Kelly West linking up well down the right flank, and Lesley Broadway-Hatton, Di Milner, Resh Kaur and Wendy Garrett setting up some good attacks from midfiled. Phillippa Gilbert took up some great positions up front and was unlucky not to give Tamworth the lead going into the break. The second half was evenly balanced with both sides pressing for the win, GK Lisa Moore made some excellent saves and was supported by defenders Sarah Hutchins and Cathy Thacker who put in some super tackles, and up the other end Margaret Worsley forced a great save from the lichfield gk with a reverse stick flick. But the spoils were shared and the town side can take lots of positives into next weeks match away at Shrewsbury. PoM Phillippa Gilbert |
