Match Report | In horrible conditions the ladies twos recorded their 4th win of the season beating North Staffs 2-1 on Saturday with all the goals coming in the first half. Tamworth started positively their midfield controlling the tempo of the game and they opened the scoring after 15 minutes, Claire Miles fired the ball into the 'D' to Danielle Hill who calmly flicked the ball past the keeper. The towns defense was rarely troubled as they snuffed out any odd attack, with Kate Caddick having a super game as she linked play with Jo Goode and Elaine Foxley creating a number of attacks. In the 28th minute Tamworth increased their lead when Stevie Williams scored from a short corner. North staffs pulled a goal back just before half time as they forced a number of short corners scoring from one of them, but the town side went into the break 2-1 up. The second session once again saw the home side dominate possession as they limited Staffs to the odd breakaway attack, and with a bit more composure in front of goal Tamworth should have put the game out of sight as they created a number of goal scoring opportunities, but the game finished 2-1 and three more valuable points to the home side.
