Match Report | Tamworth ladies bounced back in style from last week's defeat with a dominant performance against leek on Saturday. The town side played with confidence from the off with Jo Goode almost giving them an early lead. Goode then turned provider as she ran the leek defenders ragged down the right flank, Stevie Williams scored the town's first with a super strike with Gemma Bradshaw adding a second both from Jo Goode crosses. Leek pulled a goal back from a short corner, and GK Nicky youngman made a super diving save to keep Tamworth's lead intact going into the break. Claire Miles scored from a short corner to put the town 3-1 up and with Tamworth continuing to play some scintillating hockey as they tore through the leek defence Paula cooper and Sarah Arnold put in some fabulous crosses, Williams scored her second with a reverse stick strike before Hannah Marshall completed the rout with a deft flick. Next week Tamworth face a tough test against table topping cannock. PoM Jo Goode |
