Match Report | The ladies 2s returned to league hockey following the Christmas break and came away with a well earned 2-0 win against an experienced wolves side. Tamworth started brightly with some superb passing and movement creating chances but the wolves GK was in fine form making a number of super saves. Wolves looked dangerous on the break at times but the town defence made some good tackles and clearances alongside GK Lisa Moore who was also in great form making excellent saves to keep the scores level. Tamworth finally made the breakthrough late in the half with another flowing move that found Danielle Hill unmarked in the 'd' to flick the ball home to send the town into the break 1-0 to the good. Tamworth made the perfect start to the second session as they increased their lead within a couple of minutes of the restart another fine move found Elaine Foxley who saw her initial shot saved but was quickest to react and followed up to slot home. The town side continued to enjoy plenty of possession with Foxley and Becca Warburton at the heart of Tamworth's best moves, although they didn't add further goals it was an excellent performance and keeps the town in the hunt for promotion. PoM shared Elaine Foxley and Becca Warburton |
