Tamworth Ladies Seconds Vs Beacon 2

On Saturday the town side produced a dominant performance beating Beacon 9-0. Tamworth almost made the perfect start, from the off a flowing move down the right flank saw Danielle Hill make a super connection from Jo Goode's cross with the ball heading for the top corner, only to see the beacon GK dive full length to tip the ball round the post. The town side took the lead after 12 minutes Claire Miles firing home from a short corner strike, 2 minutes later Danielle Hill added a second. Tamworth were now playing some scintillating hockey and only the brilliance of the beacon GK kept the scores down. But pressure finally told as Becky Moore timed her run perfectly to meet Jo Goode's cross at the far post to fire home. Stevie Williams added a fourth to send the town side into the break with a commanding lead.

Tamworth hit five second half goals, Danielle Hill capped a brilliant performance as she completed her hattrick. A couple of superb pieces of advantage played by the umpire saw Williams and Elaine Foxley make the most of this to score the towns seventh and eighth goals before Miles completed the rout.
