Match Report | Tamworth ladies seconds produced their best performance of the season on Saturday as they beat second placed Beacon 4-1. The town side made a positive start playing with great intensity as they attacked down both flanks with Beacon unable to cope with Tamworth's passing and movement as they struggled to get the ball out of their own half, two goals in the 10th and 12th minute gave Tamworth a deserved lead, Claire Miles converted a penalty and Stevie Williams hit home from open play. The town continued to dominate possession for the rest of the half going into the break 2-0 up. The second session saw beacon come out strongly and it was the home sides turn to withstand some early pressure but Tamworth's defence made some super tackles and clearances before beacon pulled a goal back with a well worked attack. This seemed to spur Tamworth on as they regained a foothold in the game and once again started to control the play, Danielle Hill had an excellent game and was rewarded with a goal following great link up play from Stevie Williams and Fiona Sinclair. Williams then added her second and Tamworth's fourth with a penalty corner strike as Tamworth ran out worthy winners, a super team performance. PoM Danielle HillĀ |
