Match Report | The ladies seconds travelled to Whitchurch on Saturday and came away with a well deserved 4-0 win. The town side started brightly with their midfield imposing themselves on the game immediately, Jacqui Casey found Claire Miles unmarked at the top of the 'd' who dispatched her shot into the corner of the goal to give Tamworth an early lead. Tamworth continued to dominate with Paula Cooper, Becky Moore and Anne Marshall enjoying plenty of possession down the right flank and Jane escombe and Beth Wright also combining well down the left. The town side created numerous chances but were unable to add to their score until the 30th minute when Casey and Miles combined again for miles to score her second and send the town into the break 2-0 up. The second session followed a similar pattern with Tamworth dominating possession but they couldn't put the finishing touches to some excellent moves, both Paula cooper and Danielle Hill had efforts well saved by the WEM goal keeper. It wasn't until the final 10 minutes that Tamworth added to their score, Anne Marshall scored the third after Hill was found in space with a super pass from midfield and she drew the GK before slipping the ball to Marshall to slot home. Tamworths fourth came with the last hit of the game, a penalty corner awarded to the town side saw Jacqui Casey follow up the initial shot to flick the ball over the GK to make the final score 4-0.
