Match Report | The ladies 2s suffered a second successive loss with a narrow 1-0 defeat to North staffs on Saturday. Tamworth once again made a slow start to the game as staffs dominated possession, but for all their possession they didn't really create many clear-cut chances. The deadlock was finally broken with a short corner strike to send staffs into the break 1-0 up. The town side came out for the second session stronger and played some lovely hockey controlling the game for long periods, but they were left to rue missed chances from short corners and three one on ones with the keeper as they failed to convert any of these opportunities, and the game finished 1-0 to North staffs. Cathy Thacker made an excellent debut for the town with Sam Bowyer named player of the match for a superb game at centre back. |
