Tamworth Ladies Seconds Vs Beacon 1

The ladies 2s lost their first league game of the season with a disappointing performance on Saturday.  Tamworth struggled to find any rhythm to their game against a well organised side as they were put under pressure from the off. Lisa Moore made a number of excellent saves before Beacon opened the scoring with a fine individual goal and added a second soon after. This seemed to wake the town up as they created a couple of opportunities of their own but poor decisions in the final third let them down and Beacon added a third to go into the break 3-0 to the good.

After some strong words at half time the second session was a complete contrast for the town side as they dominated the play, Hannah Marshall had an excellent game up front and from one super piece of play she set up Claire Miles to pull a goal back for Tamworth. The town side continued to push forward as they restricted Beacon to breakaway attacks but Tamworth's defence held firm. Unfortunately for Tamworth they were unable to convert any chances they created and suffered their first defeat of the season. Hannah Marshall was voted player of the match with Beth Wright and Jess Thacker also having excellent games.
