Match Report | Goals from Danielle Hill, Kirsty Brown, Hannah Channing and a Claire Miles hat-trick saw Tamworth beat Aldridge on Saturday to keep their slim hopes of promotion alive, but with bridgnorth winning on Sunday the best the town side can now finish is third. Tamworth set the tempo of the game from the off with some excellent play moving the ball from defence to attack, Jess Thacker had a super game at left back making a number of good tackles and linking up the play with Jacqui Casey and Tilly Bryan. The town side took the lead midway through the half from a Claire Miles short corner strike, Danielle Hill added a second from close range and Kirsty Brown capped off a fine first half performance to give Tamworth a commanding 3-0 half time lead. The second session saw Aldridge enjoy more possession and they capitalised on this scoring early in the half. Tamworth responded well with Claire Miles completing her hat-trick with two more short corner strikes, but a change of formation by Aldridge as they sacrificed their GK for 11 outfield players unsettled the town side for a while with Aldridge putting pressure on the town defence, GK Vicky Butler made some good saves and clearances before Aldridge added a second. Hannah Channing scored the town's sixth goal before Aldridge scored their third with 2 minutes to go, but tamworth ran out comfortable winners.
