Match Report | The ladies seconds lying third in the league faced second placed Bridgnorth on Saturday and came away with a hard fought 1-1 all draw. The town side started brightly keeping possession and putting pressure on the bridgnorth defence, and were rewarded with a goal from Gemma Rayson who fired home from the top of the 'd'. Bridgnorth came more into the game after Tamworth's goal with the rest of the half evenly contested, bridgnorth did force a number of short corners and from a well worked one equalised to go into the break all square. Tamworth just edged possession in the second half although both sides had chances to find that all important winning goal, GK Lisa Moore had a good game in goal making some good saves and at the other end Gemma Rayson hot the post and Claire Miles had a shot cleared of the line but the scores remained level and the spoils were shared, a good all round performance from Tamworth with Fiona Wylie and Hannah Channing sharing the POM awards. |
