Tamworth Ladies Seconds Vs Wolverhampton & Tettenhall 2

Tamworth ladies produced a superb performance on Saturday beating Wolves 2-0. With only 10 players available the town side side started on the front foot dominating the play with Jacqui Casey and Claire Miles controlling the midfield. Paula Cooper and Anne Marshall combining well down the right flank with Marshall using her pace to great effect creating a number of openings for the town side. Tamworths first goal came from a short corner with Casey slipping the ball to Miles to fire home. Meg Britton scored the second soon after from another Marshall cross with a brilliant deflection sending the town side into the break 2-0 up.

Although Tamworth didn't enjoy as much possession in the second half they continued to look to add to there score and were unlucky on a couple of occasions. Fiona Ferguson and Beth Wright worked tirelessly in midfield supporting both the forwards and defence, but As tiredness set in the town side struggled to keep the ball with Wolves applying some pressure on the town defence but they rarely threatened their goal and Tamworth held on to secure all 3 points.
