Match Report | The ladies 2s were disappointed to come away with no points in this evenly contested game against Bridgnorth on Saturday, losing 3-2. Bridgnorth made the brighter start and enjoyed plenty of possession in the first half, Lisa Moore made a number of good saves but it was bridgnorth who deservedly took the lead. The town side did grow into the game and passed the ball around nicely at times, with Paula Cooper and Anne Marshall combining well down the right flank but they were unable to find the equaliser and went into the break 1-0 down. Tamworth performed much better in the second half with their midfield quartet keeping possession and creating a number of chances. Claire Miles and Elaine Foxley combined well from their first short corner with Foxley hammering the ball home, the duo combined again from another short corner this time Foxley setting up Miles to slot home and give the town side the lead. Tamworth were enjoying their best spell of the game and really should have put the game out of sight but to bridgenorth's credit they kept going and as Tamworth tired they capitalised on a couple of mistakes to equalise and then score the winner five minutes from time. There were alot of good performances for the town with the POM award going to Kate caddick. DoD Kirsty Brown |
