Tamworth Ladies Seconds Vs Lichfield 4

The ladies two suffered their first loss of the season to local rivals Lichfield on Saturday. Tamworth made a slow start to the game as Lichfield dominated possession and pinned the town side back in their own half. Clare Phillips and GK Chloe Sullivan were both in excellent form making a number of crucial tackles and saves to keep the scores level alongside Frannie Beharrell who also made an impressive debut for the club at the back. Against the run of play on a rare break forward Tamworth took the lead when Jacqui Casey slotted home. Unfortunately the town's lead was short lived as Lichfield hit back almost immediately and took the lead soon after to go into the break 2-1 up.

Tamworth competed much better in the second half enjoying more possession passing the ball around nicely at times, and with a little more composure in front of goal could have added to their score, Claire Miles had the ball in the back of the net but unfortunately the umpire blew for a penalty just as she hit the ball and she then missed the resulting penalty with a poor effort. Lichfield added a third to secure the points.
