Match Report | Tamworth's second league game saw them share the spoils with North Staffs on saturday. The town side started in positive fashion with their midfield quartet dominating possession, Claire Miles had a couple of good chances in the opening 10 minutes but couldn't find the net. With North Staffs dangerous on the break the town defence of Paula Cooper, Sarah Hutchins and Clare Phillips made a number of good tackles to thwart any danger. Fiona Wylie worked tirelessly in midfield and Tamworths pressure finally told when Fiona Ferguson scored from close range to send Tamworth into the break 1-0 to the good. North Staffs came out strongly in the second session and probably shades the half, although the town side forced a couple of short corners and chances from open play but they were unable to add to their score. As Tamworth tired they sat back inviting pressure on themselves with North Staffs gaining on confidence GK Lisa Moore was called into action with some excellent saves but with 10 minutes remaining North Staffs equalised and the points were shared.
