Match Report | Tamworth ladies seconds got their league campaign off to the best possible start with a 3-1 win over Streetly. The town side made a good start as they dominated possession pinning Streetly back in their own half, with Beth Wright and Jess Bryant creating a number of chances with some great play down the flanks, but the Streetly GK was in fine form making some great saves. Rebecca Warburton finally made the breakthrough when she followed up an Amie Bishop shot to reverse flick the ball over the keeper. With Streetly limited to a few attackes the town defence was rarely troubled but with only a few minutes of the half remaining Streetky equalised leaving Tamworth disappointed to go into the break all square. Buoyed on by their equaliser Streetly enjoyed some early possession of their own in the second half with Tamworth grateful to Sarah Hutchins two goal line clearances to keep the scores level. The town side soon regrouped and started passing the ball around nicely and deservedly retook the lead when Amie Bishop smashed the ball home from the top of the 'D'. Claire Miles added a third with a fine solo effort to put the game out of reach of Streetly. Danille Hill made an impressive debut for the club with POM award going to Rebecca Warburton |
