Tamworth went into their second league game of the season against a well drilled Edgbaston side. From the off both sides were up for the contest & were disciplined in their separate game plans. The first half saw Tamworth with more of the chances & were unlucky not to put the ball in the back of the net. Tamworth’s middle which consisted of sisters Tara & Alex Wylie was strong & relentless throughout the entire game & the two sisters played a huge part in Tamworth’s goal which came from Gemma Rowe. The goal pushed Tamworth on & after that saw them dominate the rest of the half with other chances arising but not being able to convert to goals. The second half was much of the same with Tamworth continuing strong with the Wylie sisters & Man of the Match Eden Collier playing out of their skins & showing incredible skill & determination. More chances came Tamworth’s way with Stevie Williams & Alex Wylie hitting the post but Tamworth just couldn’t find their second goal. Edgbaston didn’t give up though & never showed any sign of defeat, this was to be rewarded in the last 5 minutes of the game as a break of play saw them equalise with a diving effort their forward saw the ball in the back of the net. Tamworth didn’t give up & still had chances in the final seconds of the game but the game finished 1-1 & each team taking a point.
