Match Report | Another rainy away fixture for Tamworth Ladies 3rds as they travelled to Stafford. The teams were well matched with some good play from both sides. Stafford were the first to score early in the first half with a lucky deflection over the keeper’s head. The game continued with both sides having their chances and the home side coming closest but were thwarted by a great goal line clearance by Bryant who worked tirelessly throughout the midfield. Tamworth started the 2nd half strongly and their efforts were rewarded with an equaliser when Elaine Foxley ran on to a great through pass from Sam Bowyer and struck the ball cleanly through a crowd of players and into the Stafford goal. Both teams then went all out for the winning goal which Stafford finally scored in the last few minutes resulting in a 2-1 defeat for the visiting side. Tamworth LPOM Audrey Warburton. |
