Tamworth 2nds moved to within a point of the promotion places as captain James Calder led by example to inspire a vital win at Pershore.
The home side stunned Tamworth with a slick move leading to a goal within the first five minutes. However Calder and Graeme Cook began to dominate the midfield and after Holloway's shot was saved Calder swept the rebound into the roof of the net.
Tamworth increased the pressure and went ahead when Simon Bowyer fired in a short corner.
After the break Pershore pressed forward in numbers seeking an equaliser but theTown defence held firm with Rourke and Warzcinki outstanding. Tamworth sealed the points when a pass from Shaw found man of the match Calder in space and he picked out Callum Taylor to score.
After a couple of below par efforts this was Tamworth's best performance of the year and more of the same could still yield their ultimate goal of promotion.
