Match Report | Tamworth travelled to stone on a very wet and windy morning. Tamworth had the majority of play throughout the game, Jess barker and Gemma Rowe had outstanding games in midfield linking up with the forward line up of Tara Wylie , Stevie Williams and Alex Gayton there were numerous chances but the stone goalkeeper was excellent and saved them from a heavy defeat. Tamworth need to remember for the return match to work the ball around the keeper. Tamworth finally opened the scoring with a strike from Gemma Rowe from a short corner. Going into the second half Tamworth kept on the pressure, working hard and supporting each other. Sarah Arnold, Rachel Rowe, Charley Rowe, Michelle McManus, Becky Moore and Fiona Wylie worked the ball well around the back and in midfield and goal keeper Connie Wain was not troubled. Tara Wylie with her speed when on the ball could drive forwards and delivered some great balls across the pitch into the ‘D’. Jess Barkers confidence has grown over the summer and she worked tirelessly, picking the ball up, driving forward and making some excellent passes. The second goal was a great team effort, the ball being passed quickly and the small passes in and around the d’ allowed Stevie to slot it home. The final goal was another short corner strike from Gemma Rowe. A great team performance but Tamworth need to put away more of the goal scoring chances.
