Match Report | Tamworth Men's First XI registered a second successive 3-3 draw at home to Telford 2s to leave the both winless but also unbeaten. Tamworth started the game strongly and deservedly took the lead when Tom Hancox won Tamworth a penalty flick when upended by the visiting keeper and Ian Wagstaff emphatically dispatched the flick into the top corner. Town should have built on the lead but gifted Telford their equaliser when Tom Sperrink misplaced a pass to let the Telford forward in to flick over James Miles in goal. Tamworth regained the lead from similar circumstances as their opener with Hancox again illegally halted in the D and Wagstaff again completing the job from the spot to lead at the break.
Following the interval the game became more open and Telford produced a much improved performance and scored twice to seemingly snatch a win however as with the previous week Tamworth rallied late on to find an equaliser with Ross Dillon showing good awareness to be in the right place to tap home after a cross from the left. |
