Match Report | Tamworth travelled to Stafford on a blustery morning again missing some of their key players. Despite some early pressure Tamworth settled down to hold their shape and put together some promising moves. Hannah Roberts and Jess Thacker combined well as the half progresses although real threats on the Stafford goal were few and far between. The town defence held out strongly with goalkeeper Vicky Butler rarely troubled.
Into the second half Tamworth created far more opportunities thanks to some lovely runs and crosses from Ella Morris but were unable to convert them. With 10 minutes to go Tamworth found themselves down to 10 players following an injury but held on against increased pressure to finish with a well earned draw. Some excellent performances from the youngsters demonstrating great promise. League player of the match went to Lesley Broadway who also shared Team player of the match with Hannah Roberts |
