Match Report | Tamworth ladies seconds produced another super performance on Saturday to beat Phoenix Blues 3-0; such was their dominance that GK Nicky Youngman had only two saves to make all game. The town side started brightly with their midfield controlling the play creating numerous opportunities to score but for all their possession Tamworth went into the break only 1-0 up thanks to a Fiona Ferguson goal. Tamworth scored two more goals in the second half to seal their tenth successive league win, Jo Goode scored the towns second, a super flowing move started at the back by Leah Ward to Sarah Hutchins who passed to Goode on the right wing whose mazy run saw her beat a couple of players before brilliantly firing home from a narrow angle. Bea Pound was in the right place to tap in Tamworth’s third to secure all three points. There were good performances from Wendy Garrett and Alex Wylie with Jo Goode winning the League POM and Bea Pound the team POM. |
