Match Report | Tamworth’s away fixture was on the pitch at Whittington barracks and with storm Dennis in situ and rain showers it proved to be a very difficult and testing game. Lichfield started off the strongest, Tamworth were sloppy giving the ball away too much but Lichfield didn’t cause any real problems in our defensive 25. Jo Goode was a welcomed member back into the team, giving some strength in the midfield and linking well with Becky Moore in right midfield and Nadia Williams, Alex Gayton, Steph Wagstaff and Stevie Williams up front. Second half Tamworth scored within the first 5 minutes, the centre pass from Steph Wagstaff to Michelle McManus, to Charley Rowe who drove down the right, and then a hard accurate push Gemma Rowe received the ball just inside the attacking 25 and took it into the ‘d’ and reverse struck it into the bottom right hand corner! Tamworth remained focussed and worked hard. Nadia Williams, jo Goode and Charley Rowe caused Lichfield problems down the right hand side whilst Michelle McManus, Gemma Rowe and Claire Miles dictated the centre and left of the pitch. Keeper Connie wain, Sarah Arnold and Rachel Rowe communicating well and distributing the ball well out to midfield. Tamworth deservedly came away with a win and 3 points!
