Match Report | Tamworth Men’s First XI suffered a humiliating 11-1 defeat at home to Ludlow as they continued to struggle this season. Tamworth were poor from start to finish and failed to mark tightly enough or track runners from midfield. Ludlow took an early lead which they quickly added to racing into a 4-0 lead. Town created a couple of chances on the break with Tom Sperrink denied by the keeper when through one on one and Simon Cooper unable to get his shot away following a cross from the right. Tamworth should have grabbed a lifeline when Ludlow had a player sent off for a push on Graeme Cook however Town couldn’t take advantage and went into the break trailing by 5 goals to nil. In the second half despite the man advantage little changed as Ludlow scored at regular intervals and Tamworth failed to win or keep the ball often enough. The hosts grabbed a consolation when Tom Hancox drove to the byline and cut back for Sperrink to strike from the middle of the D but the goals kept coming for Ludlow and they left as convincing victors. |
