Tamworth Ladies Thirds Vs Streetly 1

A chilly Saturday morning saw Tamworth ladies take to the field with a combination of youth and returning experience against a young but quick Streetly team. The game started off at a reasonable pace with neither team able to break the deadlock. Despite the pace of some of the Streetly youngsters Tamworth had the best of the first 20 minutes and were able to capitalise on some good combination passing with Tilly Bryan finally finding the back of the net. As the game went on Tamworth took control but were unable to capitalise on some excellent moves as Elaine Foxley, Jess Thacker and Bea Pound worked well in midfield to provide opportunities for Di Milner, Tilly Bryan and Hannah Roberts.

A well struck short corner from Milner extended the towns lead and they looked to be heading towards a comfortable victory when a well worked Streetly move beat the outnumbered defence for pace as they pulled one back. Undeterred Tamworth continued to put some excellent moves together and restored their two goal lead with a lovely piece of play by Tilly Bryan setting Milner up to slot the ball home. With less than 10 minutes to go a brief lapse in concentration allowed Streetly to pull a second goal back and a canny Streetly substitution lead to a third quickly after, leaving the town side little time to restore their lead. Despite the frustrating final result Tamworth should be pleased with the performance of their youngsters.
