Match Report | A much changed team travelled to Bloxwich on Saturday producing an excellent performance coming away with an emphatic 6-0 win. The town side started brightly scoring in the first few minutes with a fantastic solo effort from Nat Brooks on her Tamworth debut, picking the ball up in the left midfield and running strongly into the D finishing with a firm shot that easily beat the keeper. Tamworth continued to dominate the game with excellent passing by all the juniors Jess Thacker, Bea Pound, Hannah Roberts, Meg Hogben and Emily Barker creating many chances. A second goal came in the first half from a great cross by Hannah Roberts for Chris Mander to tap in at the far post to give the town a 2-0 half time lead.
After the break the game continued in the same vein with the youngsters, supported by Chris Mander, Kate Caddick, Sam Bowyer, Bev Alesbrook and Nat Brooks, passing the ball around nicely to create many chances. As the home side tired Tamworth managed to convert 4 more goals. Bloxwich did manage a late attack in the last few minutes resulting in a short corner just as the final whistle blew, but GK Vicky Butler manged to clear it straight out of the D, meaning that the final score was 6-0 with hat-tricks for both Chris Mander and Nat Brooks. A great performance by the team.
