Match Report | The ladies thirds secured their first league win of the season with an excellent performance against Stafford on Saturday. The town side started brightly passing the ball around with confidence and enjoyed a lot of early possession Bea Pound once again impressing, however Stafford came back into the game forcing a couple of short corners which Tamworth’s defence dealt with well, but a scrappy goal gave Stafford the lead somewhat against the run of play. Tamworth continued to pass the ball well and a well worked move from the back found Elaine Foxley who made no mistake with a super strike. The town increased their lead with a flowing move again started from the defence with Elaine Foxley this time turning provider as her cross found Hannah Roberts at the back post to slot home to give the town side a half time lead. Tamworth had the better of the second session with plenty of attacking play forcing a number of short corners but a third goal came from open play Foxley getting her second of the match. A great team performance with Jo Bryan getting the League POM and Bea Pound the team POM awards. DOD Kate Caddick (turning up an hour before meet time) |
