Match Report | The ladies 3s made the long trip to Leek again this week to face a strong third team. The first half was evenly contested with chances being created at both ends, however Tamworth were unable to convert their chances and were thankful to goal keeper Lisa Moore who pulled off a string of superb saves to keep Leek at bay. The deadlock was finally broken by an excellent strike from the Leek attacker that saw them go into the break 1-0 up. Leek had the better of the second session as the town side suffered injuries to two key players Audrey Warburton and Elaine Foxley Tamworth reshuffled and battled on valiently but tired and Leek scored three more times to secure the points. Once again there were excellent performances from youngsters Bea Pound, Jess Thacker, Rebecca Warburton and Nadia Williams. POM Lisa Moore |
