Match Report | Tamworth started brightly passing well but were against a very defensive Barton XI. Emma Johnson and Nadia Williams ran strongly up front and jo Goode worked hard on the right battling for every ball. Claire miles and Jacqui Casey played well together in midfield creating chances that just needed a touch past the keeper. Miles crossed the ball and Williams touched the ball past the keeper to open the scoring. Tamworth continued to create chances and came close to increasing their lead. Rebecca warburton did score only in the second half only for it to be disallowed for an earlier offence. Keeper Nikki Youngman had little to do until the last 2 minutes when she made an amazing triple save to ensure the Tamworth win . Lucy plant, who’s pace was effective throughout the game was voted league player with Youngman getting players player. |
