Match Report

Tamworth started as they left off last week passing the ball around with confidence.  Meg hogben playing for the first time this season combined well with Paula Cooper on the right making incisive runs down the line.  Claire miles played a pivotal role in the middle distributing the ball with finesse.  After a period of sustained pressure Tamworth won a series of short corners and miles hammered the ball home to open the scoring.  Hogben popped the ball into the net on the line following a miles shot for Tamworth’s second.  Miles scored again from yet another short making it 3 nil at half time.

A great feature of the whole game was the commitment from all players who never stopped running from start to finish. Alex Gayton, Nadia Williams,  Rebecca warburton, Kirsty brown and Lucy plant worked tirelessly getting to every ball ahead of the opposition, not giving them any time on the ball.

Tamworth kept the pressure high in the second half and Within 2 minutes of the restart miles completed her hat trick with another short corner strike. Goals from plant and Williams followed and league player of the match Gayton scored a fantastic individual goal striking the ball from the right of the d following a weaving run across the goal to make the final score 7 nil.  Warburton was awarded players player.
