The ladies seconds produced their best performance of the season so far to record an emphatic win against Abbottsholme on saturday.Tamworth started well, passing the ball strongly using the whole width of the pitch. Emma Jonson and Alex Gayton combined well up front passing and moving to confuse the opposition. Jonson opened the scoring with a cheeky reverse flick with her back to goal. Abbotsholme equalised against the run of play but then Claire Miles scored from a flick following a goalmouth scramble. Jo Goode had another great game on the right making some great crosses and youngster Nadia Williams used her pace to good effect turning the defenders inside out. Miles scored from a short corner slotting the ball just inside the post to make it 3 1 at half time. Abbotsholme lost their discipline in the second session and Tamworth continued to pass the ball around well and were strong in every tackle. Miles scored her third and fourth both from short corners to make the final score a comprehensive 5 1 victory. Williams was league player of the match with Jonson getting players player.
