The ladies seconds also secured their first league win of the season on Saturday with a narrow win against Phoenix Blues. Tamworth were all at sea in the opening few minutes as Phoenix blues opening the scoring after only two minutes. This kick started Tamworth into action as they started to pass the ball well working across the pitch. Paula Cooper and Jo Goode combined down the right flank putting in some excellent crosses. Now dominating possession they still struggled to convert their chances and it took a great individual effort from Claire Miles, who beat four players before slipping the ball past the keeper. Level at the break Tamworth continued to pass the ball well with youngsters Nadia Williams and Rebecca Warburton running rings round the defence. Warburton scored after a period of sustained pressure, lifting the ball at a narrow angle over the diving keeper. Blues equalised again but the town side continued to press with Jacqui Casey scoring the winner from a well worked short corner. Miles was voted the league POM with Warburton winning the players player.
