Match Report | Tamworth travelled to stone to keep up with their winning run. Tamworth didn’t have the best of starts, balls were being intercepted, players were very anxious and the first twenty minutes Stone had the majority of possession. Tamworth had to defend several short corners which were executed without any doubt but they struggled at times to get out of their half but when they did they had a couple of controversial decisions but they battled on and the first goal came from open play with a goal from Gemma Rowe. Into the second half and Tamworth were a lot stronger and passed well, the ball being transferred around the pitch and possession was giving us all confidence and playing hockey the way Tamworth have done over the last few weeks. The second goal came from a pass from defence through mild field onto the forwards and Stevie Williams put it away. Stone had a goal disallowed when Connie Wain (gk) came out and put the ball onto the attackers foot but play continued and they put the ball into the back of the net but after an umpire conversation the goal was reversed. Tamworth remain second in the league.
