Match Report | The ladies second suffered a disappointing opening league defeat to Stone on Saturday losing 3-1. In stifling heat Tamworth made a bright start moving the ball around nicely but as the half went on the game became a midfield battle with neither side creating any meaningful chances. Alex Gayton showed some nice touches and created the opening goal for Claire Miles to give the town the lead late in the half but their lead was short lived as a defensive mix up gifted Stone the equaliser to go into the break all square. A disappointing second half performance from the town side as they struggled to move the ball around with their usual confidence Tamworth were left to rue their missed opportunities with Stone scoring twice. Lead Ward made an excellent league debut for the club with Alex Gayton getting the League POM award. |
