Match Report | Having dominated the game for long periods Tamworth were disappointed to only come away with a point from this match with missed oppourtunites and defensive lapses costing the town side dearly. The thirds faced the early pacesetters WATS 2nds on Saturday, they dominated the early possession with good hockey but against the run of play WATS took the lead with their first attack of the game. Tamworth responded really well scoring three times in quick succession, Alice Gilman notched her first for the club from a well taken shot from a short corner before Claire Miles added two goals her first a shot on the turn and the second a short corner strike giving the town a 3-1 half time lead. WATS came out strongly in the second half as they started to come more into the game, but Tamworth still had chances to increase their lead but were unable to convert them and WATS showed all their experience as they hit the town side with two goals to earn the draw, although disappointed not to take all three points Tamworth must take encouragement that they are able to compete with the best teams in the league.
